I'm King Of The Log!

In an attempt to make it back to West Yellowstone at a reasonable hour to do a little exploration around town, we headed back.  Soon enough we were sidetracked again.  Vol Fan's favorite herd of bighorn sheep were still in the same area as they had been earlier in the day.

We pulled up just as a rainstorm unloaded.  Lightning flashed.  Thunder boomed.  Buckets of rain fell.  But the sheep still just grazed.  And soon enough, the storm passed so we were able to get some photos.

This one seemed to be saying "I'm King of the Log!!"

But this one had other ideas!  LOL!!

  1. Oh how I love Yellowstone... So much to see --no matter where you go... We enjoyed seeing the Bighorn Sheep also... My best recollection of seeing them 'up close' was when we were in CO. We were staying near Fort Collins --and there's the neatest road between Fort Collins and Estes Park. It winds through a big gorge following a river along the way. Anyhow we saw the Bighorns near the road. Needless to say, we stopped and got lots of good pictures. We also enjoyed seeing them climb the rocks back up that steep area... Amazing what they can do...

Great set of pictures. Did your see the Pronghorns while there? They are gorgeous also.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  2. I'm glad you were able to get good pictures of the big horns. We didn't get any such pictures at Yellowstone, although we did get some good pictures in Custer State Park in South Dakota.
